About Us
With a history dating back to 1967, Borchard and Moore was founded by Mr Frank Borchard, who brought his experience from the police force into legal practice as a sole practitioner. The firm’s evolution began in 1973 when Mr Borchard partnered with Mr Bernard J Moore, a successful barrister, marking the establishment of Borchard and Moore. This partnership shaped the firm’s direction for over three decades until Mr Borchard retired in 2006. Mr Adrian J Triaca then joined Mr Moore as partner, maintaining the firm’s reputation and client service for the following six years. In 2012, Mr Matthew P Phaedonos, who had been with the firm for four years, became partner alongside Mr Moore. Together, they expanded the firm’s reach throughout Melbourne, broadening the scope of services offered to the community. Following Mr Moore’s retirement in 2020, Mr Phaedonos has taken the lead, supported by a dedicated team of lawyers and support staff committed to securing the best outcomes for clients. An important development occurred in 2014 when Mr Triaca introduced Mr Phaedonos to the opportunity to acquire O’Neill Behan & Associates, a Mornington-based firm led by Mr Colin Edward O’Neill. By 2016, following Mr Triaca’s retirement, the firm was rebranded as Phaedonos Law, further expanding the reach and legal resources available to clients. Borchard and Moore in Noble Park, together with Phaedonos Law in Mornington, deliver legal services across a comprehensive range of areas including family law, criminal law, property law and conveyancing, wills and estates, powers of attorney, retail leases, and business transfers. The firms’ commitment to clients is central, ensuring that legal matters are addressed with thoroughness and a focus on achieving results within the framework of the law. This approach reflects a passion for legal practice and a dedication to providing clear, practical advice to support the community’s needs.
