Dean Groundwater

Dean Groundwater is a highly esteemed principal lawyer and an accredited expert in commercial litigation. He leads the Commercial Group with a focus on delivering comprehensive legal advice to a diverse clientele, ranging from sole traders to public companies. With a strong emphasis on transactional work, negotiating agreements, dispute resolution, and advocacy in court, Dean's extensive experience in handling complex commercial litigation is highly regarded. Recognised by the Law Society of New South Wales as a specialist in commercial litigation, Dean is a trusted advisor to various registered clubs, charities, and sporting associations. His leadership role as a director of the Southern Sydney Business Enterprise Centre has further demonstrated his commitment to supporting local businesses. Before joining WMD Law as a partner in 1996, Dean honed his skills at Price Waterhouse Coopers from 1987 to 1994, working across their Business Services, Taxation, and Insolvency Divisions. He holds a Commerce Degree with a major in accountancy from the University of New South Wales, a Law Degree from the University of Technology Sydney, and a Masters Degree in Law specialised in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of New South Wales.
