Jessica Lipsett

Jessica is a dedicated lawyer who advises charitable and not-for-profit organisations across a broad spectrum of legal matters, including establishment and structuring, regulatory compliance, and complex dispute resolution. Her experience enables her to guide clients through the intricacies of the sector’s legal landscape with confidence and clarity. She is also a regular presenter of technical papers and provides training and professional development to members of the not-for-profit community. Jessica holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from Bond University. She was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2013 and the High Court of Australia in 2014. With a background spanning multiple roles within the Education and Not-for-Profit sectors, Jessica combines practical experience with legal expertise to assist institutional clients in managing dispute-related matters effectively. Her methodical approach and attention to detail are balanced by an ability to understand broader strategic considerations, allowing her to develop adaptable solutions that align with clients’ objectives. Her litigation experience includes appearances in the Supreme Court of Queensland, Federal Court, Federal Circuit Court, Family Court of Australia, Queensland Anti-Discrimination Tribunal, Australian Human Rights Commission, and the Fair Work Commission. Jessica serves as a Commissioner for Uniting Education: Schools and Colleges, a ministry of the Uniting Church in Queensland responsible for overseeing education across 18 affiliated schools and residential colleges. She is also a Board member of a Uniting Church school in North Brisbane. Outside of her professional commitments, Jessica is an adventurous traveller and actively supports the Church’s international partners, often combining her travels with opportunities to contribute to humanitarian initiatives led by local churches abroad.
