Mark Irwin

Mark Irwin brings nearly 20 years of experience as a partner in our construction team. His expertise encompasses both the front and back end of construction law, including contract negotiation, drafting, and comprehensive dispute resolution and advisory services across a variety of jurisdictions. Mark is adept in all types of dispute resolution processes, ranging from mediation and adjudication to expert determination and arbitration. He has litigated in all relevant courts and tribunals, including multiple appearances in the Court of Appeal. His litigation experience is complemented by a robust practice in drafting, where he has crafted numerous head contracts and bespoke subcontractor agreements for principal contractors. Throughout his career, Mark has played a pivotal role in several landmark cases concerning the Security of Payments, contributing significantly to the field. He has been a partner at Vincent Young since May 2016, adding significant value with his in-depth knowledge and strategic approach to complex construction matters. Mark holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Sydney, which further underpins his authoritative understanding of construction law.
