Joe Siracusa

Joe Siracusa, the founder and principal of Siracusa Legal, is a seasoned solicitor with a distinguished career in both private practice and public sector legal roles. He has held senior positions with national law firms across Canberra, Brisbane, and Sydney, and also contributed significantly to the Queensland Department of Justice and Attorney-General, where he was honoured with an Australia Day Achievement Medallion. Before launching Siracusa Legal, Joe was a partner at a prominent Brisbane-based commercial law firm. Since being admitted as a lawyer in 1995, Joe has amassed extensive experience representing a diverse client base, including Australian and international companies, government departments at both state and federal levels, universities, and not-for-profit organisations. His role as in-house counsel on secondment to a leading telecommunications company and a major energy company in Queensland further broadened his expertise. Joe's professional affiliations reflect his commitment to both the legal community and the broader societal impact of law, as demonstrated by his memberships in the Queensland Law Society's Ethics Committee, the Advisory Council of the Centre for Public, International and Comparative Law at The University of Queensland, and the Australian Information Industry Association's Legal Special Interest Group. He is also involved with the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand. As a sessional academic, Joe has shared his knowledge and experience with students at several prestigious universities, including the Queensland University of Technology, The University of Queensland, and Griffith University. Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws from The University of Queensland, as well as a Master of Laws from Cornell Law School. His legal career spans over 17 years as the principal of Siracusa Legal, where he continues to guide clients with expertise and dedication.
