His career began at 21, joining the New South Wales Police, where he quickly distinguished himself as an exceptional public speaker adept at connecting with audiences. His practical experience in criminal casework and solid background in criminal investigations set the foundation for his legal career. Marc's transition from law enforcement to law was marked by a deep understanding of criminal investigation procedures and forensic evidence. During his nearly decade-long tenure as a crime scene investigator across New South Wales, Marc tackled various investigations, including murder, arson, and motor vehicle accidents. Noteworthy contributions include his involvement in the investigation of the Belanglo Backpacker Murders and advising on the draft DNA database legislation submitted to the NSW Parliament. Marc's educational achievements reflect his forensic expertise, holding a Diploma in Applied Science with a focus on forensic investigations from the Canberra Institute of Technology, alongside several certificates in specialist areas such as forensic entomology, vehicle examination, and arson awareness.
