Emily Martin, the principal lawyer at Muse Legal, brings over two decades of experience in the film, television, and entertainment industries. She began her legal journey with esteemed law firm King & Wood Mallesons in Sydney, where she honed her skills in the IP and Media team alongside some of the industry’s leading minds. Deciding to broaden her horizons, Emily moved to London, embarking on an in-house career with notable production companies such as Avalon Television and Optomen Television, and later with ITV Network Plc. During her time in the UK, she deepened her knowledge with a Masters in Arts Administration from Goldsmiths, University of London. Emily's passion for Australian stories drew her back to Australia in 2008, where she joined the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Here, she excelled in negotiating and advising on key contracts for a wide range of programming, while also providing legal guidance to journalists in the news and current affairs division. Her career then led her to the iconic Sydney Opera House, where she served as Corporate Counsel for six years. In 2018, Emily founded Muse Legal with the goal of offering accessible, high-quality legal services across the creative industries. Her extensive background allows her to provide insightful legal and business affairs expertise in media, TV productions, performing arts, and entertainment. Emily is committed to helping clients achieve their creative ambitions with her unique mix of industry insider knowledge and legal acumen.
