Maggie McGuinn is the Principal of McGuinnLegal, a distinguished boutique law firm in West Perth, focusing on corporate, commercial, and mining law. With extensive experience in the Australian corporate sector and mining industry, she offers insightful advice on activities ranging from project acquisitions and capital raisings to ASX and Corporations Act requirements. Maggie has been instrumental in handling intellectual property concerns, business agreements, and general corporate matters for a diverse clientele, including large listed companies and small private businesses. Her legal journey commenced at a leading Australian law firm, followed by a pivotal role as in-house counsel for a major multinational oil company. This paved the way for a decade-long international career in Melbourne and London, ultimately leading her back to Perth. There, she served as General Counsel for Hancock Prospecting before establishing McGuinnLegal. Maggie’s international and domestic transaction experience spans large cross-border financings, IPOs, corporate acquisitions, restructurings, and international arbitration, among others. A testament to her legal prowess, Maggie is admitted to practice in both Western Australia and England and Wales. Academically, she holds a Bachelor of Jurisprudence (Hons) and an LLB from the University of Western Australia, alongside a Bachelor of Science with a major in pure mathematics.
