Jag MacDonald serves as the Director of MacDonald Law, bringing a wealth of experience in both civil and criminal law. With a career spanning over 16 years, Jag has developed a strategic and multifaceted approach to legal challenges, reflecting his dedication to achieving positive outcomes for his clients. Daily, he is immersed in the courtroom environment, a testament to his passion as a litigator. Jag's extensive expertise includes handling complex cases, from serious criminal matters like drug trafficking and murder to significant appeals before the Court of Appeal. His involvement in the landmark case of Attorney-General for the State of Queensland & Anor v Wands [2019] QCA 125 is particularly noteworthy, as it addressed cost-inequality issues for those accused of crimes. This case epitomises his commitment to justice and exceptional client representation. Since stepping into the role of Director at MacDonald Law in 2017, Jag has led the litigation team with distinction, supervising a robust team across south-east Queensland. His journey in the legal profession began as a law clerk in 2009, advancing to become a solicitor and subsequently the Director. Jag's legal acumen is complemented by his academic achievements, having earned a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Southern Queensland and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The College of Law Australia. Jag's leadership skills were evident during his tenure as the President and Vice President of the USQ Law Society, roles that prepared him for the challenges of legal practice.
