Dominic Longhurst

Dominic Longhurst, Principal of Longhurst & Associates, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to justice. Hailing from Orange in regional New South Wales, Dominic's legal journey began with a Bachelor of Social Science (Criminal Justice) from Charles Sturt University, followed by a Bachelor of Laws from Macquarie University. His international perspective was enhanced by a semester at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. His practical legal training with the Aboriginal Legal Service in Redfern fostered a dedication to social justice, a value that has driven much of his career. Admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in 2015, Dominic began his career at a well-respected Sydney law firm, carving out a niche in criminal law and coronial inquests. Dominic's expertise grew in his role as an In-House Lawyer for one of New South Wales' largest trade unions, where he represented members in various employment and regulatory matters. His representation extended to workplace disciplinary proceedings, unfair dismissal claims, and industrial disputes. A staunch advocate for community service, Dominic has volunteered with the Redfern Legal Centre, providing free legal advice to those in need. He mentors young legal professionals through the Law Society of NSW Mentoring Program. An avid rugby enthusiast, he has played extensively with the Northern Suburbs Rugby Club and continues to support his hometown's Orange City Rugby Club.
