Edward Fleming is the Legal Practice Director based in Broome, bringing a wealth of experience in estate planning, elder law, family law, and commercial law. Edward’s legal practice focuses extensively on estate and succession planning. He is well-versed in preparing wills that incorporate testamentary trusts, drafting enduring powers of attorney and guardianship, and advising on matters relating to superannuation funds. His experience includes representing clients in the State Administrative Tribunal on applications concerning administration and guardianship orders, as well as appearances in the Supreme Court of Western Australia on claims under the Family Provision Act 1972 (WA) and the Wills Act 1970 (WA). In addition to his core practice areas, Edward offers advice and representation in family law matters, particularly applications for property and children’s orders. His comprehensive approach ensures clients receive informed guidance tailored to their individual circumstances. Edward holds a Master of Laws (Applied Law) with a major in estate planning and wills and estates, a Bachelor of Laws, and a Bachelor of Science in Marine and Biological Sciences. He is a Graduate Fellow of the College of Law and holds a Private Pilot’s Licence, underscoring his diverse interests and disciplined approach. In 2016, Edward was appointed as a General Public Notary in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and is a registered Trust and Estate Practitioner. He is a member of the Law Society of Western Australia, serves on the Committee of the Council of the Public Notary Society of Western Australia, and is a full member of STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners). Based in Broome, Edward combines his legal work with active community involvement, including volunteering for ambulance duty with St Johns and managing a small farm.
