Kim Lawson

Kim Lawson is a Solicitor with a strong focus on property law, conveyancing, family law, and criminal law. Joining the firm in July 2019, she brings over a decade of legal experience, passionately advocating for her clients to secure the best possible outcomes. Growing up in regional NSW, Kim has developed a caring and pragmatic approach, coupled with a robust work ethic that helps her devise innovative solutions tailored to her clients’ personal needs. She understands the emotional and stressful nature of legal proceedings and is committed to guiding clients through these challenging times with empathy and effectiveness. Kim graduated from Newcastle University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science (Forensics) and a Bachelor of Laws. She began her legal career in Canberra in 2009, after an enriching gap year in England, before returning to Newcastle in 2013. Regularly appearing in the Federal Circuit Court of Australia, Family Court, and NSW Local Court, Kim also represents clients at mediation and Legal Aid Family Dispute Resolution Conferences. Currently, she is furthering her expertise through a Master of Applied Family Law and is on the path to obtaining specialist accreditation in Family Law. Admitted to the Supreme Court of ACT and the High Court Register of Practitioners in December 2009, Kim is actively involved with the Legal Aid Panel for Family Law and the Newcastle Law Society. Beyond her legal career, Kim enjoys reading, cooking, swimming, and travelling, continually planning her next adventure.
