Sian Jowitt

Sian Jowitt serves as the Principal, bringing extensive experience from both sides of the legal spectrum. With a distinguished career in law, she transitioned from a prosecutor to a defender, offering a comprehensive understanding of the Courts and criminal practice. Sian expertly evaluates the strength of cases, identifying key issues to address or leverage. Her professionalism and dedication have earned her respect across the legal community, with praise from magistrates and judges. Her journey in law began in the ACT Magistrates Court transcript section during her legal studies at ANU, where her passion for criminal law was ignited. After gaining insight into the workings of the Court, she spent a year as an associate to Magistrate Michael Somes before joining the ACT Director of Public Prosecution’s office. Over a decade, she advanced to become the legal practice manager and led the sexual-assault unit, frequently appearing in the Supreme Court. Beyond her prosecutorial achievements, Sian enhanced her expertise by completing the Australian Institute of Company Directors Graduate qualifications and served as Chair of the Domestic Violence Crisis Service. Now, she passionately defends clients in the ACT Magistrates and Supreme Courts, leveraging her prosecutorial background to offer valuable insights into the justice system within the ACT.
