Bill O'Toole

Bill O’Toole is a Partner at Connolly Suthers Lawyers in Townsville, Queensland, where he has contributed over 36 years of dedicated service since joining the firm as an articled clerk in 1979. He was admitted as a Solicitor in Queensland in 1985 following his graduation from the Queensland Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Laws. Bill became a Partner in 1990 and has since developed extensive experience across a broad range of legal areas. Bill’s practice encompasses civil and criminal litigation, with a particular emphasis on personal injuries law and insurance litigation claims. He has also worked extensively in employment and industrial law, building and construction law, guardianship and administration tribunal matters, and disciplinary proceedings. His experience includes providing advice and representation in complex investigations conducted by the Crime and Corruption Commission, as well as professional misconduct, workplace health and safety, and maritime investigations and prosecutions. Recognised for his strong advocacy and negotiation capabilities, Bill regularly represents clients in courts, tribunals, and regulatory disciplinary bodies. Throughout his career, he has supported a diverse client base, drawing on his deep understanding of the legal system and a practical, client-focused approach. In addition to his legal practice, Bill has lectured in law at the Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE and pursued further studies in financial services, completing both a Diploma and an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning.
