Idris Matthews is a partner at chew+matthews, with extensive experience in banking, project finance, joint ventures, insolvency, and directors' and officers' liability. Graduating from the University of Western Australia with degrees in law and arts, Idris completed his legal training with Mallesons in Perth before joining Clayton Utz in Sydney. His pursuit of excellence led him to the London School of Economics where he specialised in International Financial Law, earning his LLM. Idris's career includes significant international exposure, having worked with White & Case in London and Singapore, where he honed his skills in banking, project finance, and insolvency. His expertise spans advising clients across Australia, England and Wales, and extends to Western and Eastern European and Asian transactions. In 2007, he co-founded chew+matthews in Perth, where he continues to deliver insightful, strategic counsel to clients, leveraging his dual qualifications and global perspective to navigate complex legal landscapes.
