Chris Pearce

Chris established Blackwall Legal in 2015 with the aim of delivering an innovative, adaptable, and comprehensive business law service tailored for the Western Australian market. With a wealth of experience across a broad spectrum of legal disciplines, Chris has been instrumental in shaping the firm's approach and success. His legal acumen encompasses the management of complex distressed corporate restructures, navigating listed company reconstructions, resolving board disputes, and executing significant merger and acquisition transactions. Chris has also played a pivotal role in large-scale health projects and demonstrated expertise in ongoing compliance obligations, intricate commercial litigation, legislative drafting, and energy and resources projects globally. Throughout his distinguished career, Chris has represented a diverse clientele that includes insolvency professionals, leading accounting entities, multiple banks and financial institutions, one of the globe's largest oil producers, the oldest litigation funding organization, and numerous companies listed on both the LSE and ASX. Beyond his legal practice, Chris is actively involved in the professional legal community. He serves on the Executive of the Law Council of Australia’s Business Law Section and is the immediate past National Chair of its Insolvency and Restructuring Committee. Additionally, he has imparted his knowledge as a lecturer in commercial and corporate practice through the Piddington Society’s Practical Legal Training and the Leo Cussen Institute’s Articles Training Program. Complementing his legal expertise, Chris holds a first-class honours degree in chemistry, focusing on the intersection of communication between lawyers and scientists in both commercial and litigation contexts. This unique academic background enhances his ability to bridge the gap between legal and scientific disciplines effectively.
