Suryan Chandrasegaran

Suryan Chandrasegaran is the Director and Principal Solicitor at Albury Legal, bringing over twenty-five years of extensive experience in the legal profession. He specialises in Commercial and Estate Litigation, Estate Planning, Business Law, and providing expert Tax and Superannuation advice. Suryan has successfully represented clients across various Australian courts, including a notable Commercial Litigation case in the High Court of Australia. His academic journey began in Perth, leading to Monash University in Melbourne, where he earned his Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Commerce degrees in the early 1990s. Suryan's career commenced at the Australian Taxation Office in Advisings, followed by obtaining a Masters of Taxation from the University of New South Wales in 2000. He further honed his expertise in tax and superannuation law at a large national firm in Perth before transitioning to a Victorian regional practice as a Partner. Suryan founded Albury Legal after relocating to the Albury region in 2013. He is admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Courts of Victoria and Western Australia, as well as the High Court of Australia. Suryan is also a Fellow of the National Tax and Accountants Association and a registered tax agent. His commitment to the legal community is evident through his role as Treasurer of the Albury & District Law Society and previous treasurer roles at the Murray Conservatorium of Music and the Women's Life Centre Inc. Outside of his professional life, Suryan enjoys spending quality time with his family and playing badminton.
