Laurent Corgnet

Laurent Corgnet is the Principal Solicitor and Managing Director at Albatross Lawyers, a firm he founded with a focus on migration law. As a dual French-Australian citizen, Laurent brings a personal understanding of the migration process, having relocated from Paris to Australia in 2001. He was admitted as a solicitor by the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2008 and has extensive experience in both in-house roles and private legal practice. Laurent has played a pivotal role in the franchising industry for over 15 years, managing legal and operational aspects for a global chain of food retail outlets. His international experience encompasses regions from the Australia-Pacific to the Middle East and the Americas, including a CEO role in the USA. Earlier in his career, he led a business broking department for a major Australian commercial real estate company and contributed to legal advisory and wealth portfolio management for a real estate developer in the Middle East. He holds a double degree in Laws and Commerce from Bond University, with majors in Management and International Business. Furthering his legal education with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from QUT, Laurent is also a licensed real estate agent (not active) from REIQ. He is a member of the Law Society of Tasmania and the Migration Institute of Australia, among other professional associations, and is recognised by the Department of Home Affairs as a Migration Legal Practitioner. Fluent in both English and French, Laurent also has intermediate Spanish skills and basic knowledge of Japanese and Mandarin. He is actively involved in community service, serving as a Board Member and President-elect of the Rotary Club of Sandy Bay and a volunteer firefighter in Tasmania's Channel Brigade. Laurent's career is marked by a blend of legal expertise and commercial acumen, making him a well-rounded advisor for clients navigating migration, business, and franchising challenges.
