Michael Devlin

Michael serves as in-house counsel at Young & Young, where he adeptly combines his roles as a Barrister and Solicitor. With more than 30 years of experience in litigation and civil matters, he is regarded as one of the South West's most prominent lawyers. His extensive trial experience, especially in jury trials, underscores his proficiency in criminal law, personal injury claims, and general civil litigation. Michael's legal journey began with a decade spent as a Clerk of Courts in Victoria, a role that honed his practical understanding of the legal system. He qualified as a lawyer in Victoria in 1984 and was simultaneously admitted to practise in Western Australia. Before joining Young & Young in 1992, Michael accumulated substantial experience in civil litigation across all jurisdictions. His passion for law is further evidenced by his history of lecturing students in conveyancing and administrative law. Michael's courtroom experience is comprehensive, having appeared before courts in all jurisdictions, demonstrating his versatile command of the legal landscape.
