Deidre Ryder

Deidre Ryder serves as the Director and Principal Solicitor at White Berman Ryder, having joined the firm in 2019. Prior to her tenure at the firm, Deidre honed her legal acumen as an Associate to a Judge of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. This pivotal role sparked her passion for law, leading her to pursue a formal legal education. Deidre earned her Bachelor of Laws while concurrently working full-time at the Federal Circuit Court, demonstrating remarkable dedication and commitment. She graduated with Honours in 2016 and subsequently completed a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in March 2018. Her legal journey continued with her admission as a legal practitioner in the Supreme Court of South Australia in April 2018, followed by admission to the High Court of Australia in May 2018. Complementing her legal expertise, Deidre's studies included a year in psychology, enriching her understanding of mental health, child development, and effective communication. This multidisciplinary insight enhances her legal practice, particularly in her interest in complex wills and estates, seamlessly aligning with her extensive experience in family law. In January 2025, Deidre assumed ownership of White Berman Ryder from founders Simon and Guy White, who continue to contribute as Senior Solicitors. The trio shares a pragmatic approach to legal practice, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment. Deidre remains under the mentorship of Simon and Guy, ensuring continuity and growth for the firm. Her professional affiliations include membership in the Law Society of South Australia, as well as past involvement with the Family Law Committee and ongoing membership in the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia. Outside of her legal commitments, Deidre enjoys baking, exploring the Adelaide Hills, and dedicating time to volunteer work.
