Warren Elder

Warren is an esteemed and accredited Family Law Specialist, recognised by the Law Society of Western Australia. With an impressive academic background that includes a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts (Politics) from the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle, alongside a Bachelor of Business from Edith Cowan University, Warren combines academic excellence with practical expertise. Commencing his legal journey at Kim Wilson & Co, Warren worked under the mentorship of prominent Family Law Barrister, Mr Kim Wilson SC. This formative experience equipped him with substantial knowledge in handling medium to large financial matters and participating in numerous complex trials and appeals. His legal acumen was further honed through collaborative efforts with some of the leading family law barristers, including Mr Peter Dowding SC and Mr Kim Wilson SC, among others. In 2015, Warren established West End Legal, following a tenure as Special Counsel at Culshaw Miller Lawyers. His leadership capabilities were previously demonstrated in his role as Head of the Family Law Department at Dwyer Durack Lawyers. Before venturing into the legal domain, Warren had a diverse career in the technology sector. His roles spanned working as a computer programmer for the Department of Defence in Canberra and as a systems analyst for the Australian Submarine Corporation in Adelaide. He also served as an IT contractor across various companies and government departments in Western Australia and Canada. Notably, he contributed as a Government Sales Manager and Education Sales Manager for AppleCentre Perth, and later as a Senior Systems Analyst in Canada, managing projects for government departments in Ottawa. In addition to his technological and legal careers, Warren has entrepreneurial roots, demonstrated through ownership and management of restaurants in Honduras, Central America. This experience in the hospitality industry added to his rich tapestry of professional experiences. On the personal front, Warren is a dedicated father who has raised his two daughters single-handedly since 2001. His personal experiences as a single parent enrich his understanding of the complexities and pressures that families face, further informing his compassionate approach to family law.
