About Maddalena
Maddalena Romano was born and raised in Adelaide, spending much of her early life in the North Eastern Suburbs near the foothills. Recently, following her marriage, she embraced a change of scenery by relocating to the Western Suburbs. Maddalena's early education took place at Dernancourt Primary School, followed by secondary education at Kildare College. Initially pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture with Honours, Maddalena developed a strong interest in Building Law, which led her to undertake a Law degree at the University of Adelaide. She completed her law studies in 2000, followed by a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the Law Society of South Australia in 2001. She was admitted to legal practice in February 2002. Beginning her legal career as a junior solicitor at a suburban Adelaide law firm in late 2001, Maddalena focused on criminal law, building extensive experience in this area. Seeking to integrate her architectural knowledge with her legal expertise, she furthered her qualifications in 2006 by commencing a Graduate Diploma in Planning and Building at the University of South Australia. Throughout her legal career until 2014, Maddalena demonstrated a strong commitment not only to her clients but also to legal education, mentoring young solicitors and tutoring law students. This passion led her to pursue a Graduate Diploma in Learning and Teaching through Charles Darwin University. Guided by the belief that common sense often informs good law, Maddalena has now returned to legal practice, dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for her clients. Outside of her professional life, Maddalena values time spent with family and friends. She enjoys travelling and has a particular affinity for exploring destinations in Europe and America.
