About Harriet

Harriet Warlow-Shill is the founder and managing partner of Warlows Legal, a firm celebrated for its innovative client service, dedication, and excellence. With a lineage steeped in the legal profession, including notable figures like her great aunt Edith Picton-Turbervill, one of the first females in the House of Commons, Harriet developed a profound commitment to the law early in life. Growing up in Western Australia, Harriet was influenced by her grandfather, one of the pioneering lawyers for the Aboriginal Legal Service in the region. After obtaining her Law and Arts degrees from the University of Western Australia, she channelled her knowledge into advancing Native Title, Refugee, and Aboriginal rights, co-founding the Law Student Volunteer Service and contributing pro bono as a law clerk for the Aboriginal Legal Service of WA. Harriet’s legal experience is comprehensive, encompassing roles such as acting for developers, government bodies, major mining companies, and builders across Western Australia, New South Wales, and Victoria. Her involvement in cases related to the Security of Payments legislation in NSW, ACT, and Victoria highlights her adept handling of complex legal matters. Additionally, she successfully negotiated settlements for defective construction works concerning a major Nickel mine. Aside from her legal practice, Harriet is dedicated to sharing her expertise, lecturing on litigation procedure and professional ethics at prestigious institutions such as the University of Western Australia and the University of New South Wales. Her professional affiliations are extensive, including positions on the Building and Construction Working Group of the Law Institute of Victoria and the board of United Hatzalah Australia. She serves as Co-Chair for Chabad Institutions of Victoria Limited and holds the Vice Chair position for Australian Friends of Ariel University. Committed to community engagement, Harriet offers her time and expertise to several organisations, including Jewish House and local community initiatives. Her career is marked by a balance of professional acumen, community service, and a passion for justice, particularly in the areas of construction, start-ups, and charities.
