Nadia Blake

Nadia Blake is a partner with nearly 18 years of experience practising insurance and commercial litigation across multiple Australian jurisdictions. She has represented some of the country’s largest insurers, providing detailed indemnity advice and acting for insured clients across a broad spectrum of industries, including building and construction, mining, manufacturing, professional services, sport and recreation, education, medical services, and Local Government. Nadia is well-versed in advising not-for-profit organisations, schools, church bodies, government agencies, and corporate clients on civil liability claims, including sensitive matters in both South Australia and New South Wales. Her expertise encompasses public and products liability, dangerous sporting and recreational activities, discrimination and defamation, construction design failures, complex contractual disputes, professional indemnity, directors and officers’ duty breaches, Consumer Law infringements, and medical negligence. She has also acted on complex catastrophic claims such as bushfire incidents involving personal injury and property damage, as well as severe injury and death claims. Nadia provides dedicated advice and representation to the Local Government Mutual Liability Scheme concerning civil liability matters affecting South Australian Councils and Local Government bodies. Known for working closely with insured parties and private clients, Nadia focuses on achieving commercially sound outcomes that address reputational sensitivities and other key interests. She has extensive experience with alternative dispute resolution processes and regularly appears and instructs counsel in courts and tribunals across Australia. In addition to her legal practice, Nadia is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has served on boards for not-for-profit organisations for over a decade. She currently sits on the board of the South Australian Little Athletics Association.
