Ben Allen

Ben Allen has been a partner at Wallmans Lawyers since 1995 and leads the firm's practices in Hospitality, Licensing, Planning and Environment. He brings extensive experience acting for licensees, residents and Council clients across the hospitality sector. Ben regularly appears before the Liquor and Gambling Commissioner, as well as the Licensing and Supreme Courts. His work in these areas has earned recognition in Best Lawyers Australia and Doyle’s Guide for Planning and Environment. In his Planning and Environment practice, Ben represents developers and Councils in development applications, enforcement matters, and appeals before development assessment panels and the Environment, Resources and Development Court. He offers a comprehensive understanding of how development interacts with laws including the Development Act, Local Government Act, Gaming Machines Act and Liquor Licensing Act. Ben is frequently invited to present on legal issues to industry groups, Local Governments and legal professionals. He has spoken at the Law Society, Legalwise, and within the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice program. He also contributes to the Liquor and Gambling Commissioner’s Practitioners’ Forum, sharing his insights with peers and stakeholders.
