Kate Robinson brings a wealth of experience to her role as Senior Legal Counsel at Artesian, a substantial venture capital fund managing over AUD1 billion across more than 20 funds. With a solid foundation in corporate and commercial law that began in London, Kate enhanced her expertise at leading Sydney law firms before transitioning to Artesian. Her focus is on advising on a vast venture capital portfolio involving more than 600 companies. Kate excels in managing complex legal matters pertaining to venture capital, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and early-stage companies, drawing on her comprehensive understanding of these areas. Motivated by the challenges she observed founders facing within the Artesian portfolio, Kate established Venture Counsel to provide a legal service that genuinely aligns with founders' needs. With a significant portfolio of work, Kate managed over 100 initial investments for Artesian, ranging from $150,000 to multi-million dollar investments. Her adept handling of significant transactions—such as 5B’s $55 million Series B Round, Sicona’s $22 million Series A Round, and Loam Bio’s $40 million Series A Round—underscores her expertise. Kate has also advised Quadrant Growth Fund on its investment in Papinelle and supported transactions for Digital Networks Australia Pty Ltd, Green Options, and a B2B payments solution provider. Her work is characterized by a deep understanding of early-stage fundraising in Australia and a strategic approach to legal advising.
