Elise Parker-Thomson

Elise's diverse career trajectory exemplifies her dedication and adaptability, attributes that have become the foundation of her successful legal practice. Beginning her professional journey in the Commonwealth public service, Elise took a career hiatus to focus on her family. Her return to the workforce saw her excel in administration and finance within the mining and resources sectors, eventually leading to the establishment of her own bookkeeping business. Serving a range of clients, from small exploration companies to publicly listed entities, she honed her financial acumen while managing her own enterprise. This experience laid the groundwork for her legal studies, culminating in a Bachelor of Laws pursued full-time, whilst successfully navigating the challenges of single parenthood. With her degree in hand, Elise committed herself to service, volunteering with JusticeNet and the Women's Legal Service. These roles offered her a breadth of experience across multiple areas of legal practice before she joined a boutique firm. Her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to community welfare drove Elise to establish her own firm, Thomson & Associates, in October 2018. Focused on family law and wills and estate matters, her firm is dedicated to providing affordable and efficient legal services. Her extensive background in finance continues to enhance her ability to manage complex transactions with precision and insight. Elise is a proactive member of her professional community, affiliated with the Law Society of South Australia, the Women's Lawyer's Association, and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia. Her leadership extends to active participation in the Human Rights and Access to Justice Committees within the Law Society of South Australia. Outside of her professional commitments, Elise pursues her passion for scuba diving. As a PADI Master Scuba Diver and PADI Dive Master, she enjoys both local and international travel, savouring the underwater worlds as part of her journey.
