Paul McHugh

Paul has been a valued member of Thompson McNichol since 1994, bringing extensive experience in property law, business transactions, retirement villages, as well as wills and estate planning. His deep understanding of these areas has been developed over many years serving clients across the Sunshine Coast region. In 2011, Paul attained accreditation with the Queensland Law Society for property law, distinguishing him as one of only three accredited practitioners in this field on the Sunshine Coast. His expertise has also been sought by the State Government, where he serves on a reference committee advising on amendments to the Land Sales Act and related property legislation. Paul is committed to ongoing professional development, continually enhancing his knowledge and skills to provide clients with informed and practical legal advice. Paul’s contributions to the legal profession were further recognised in 2019 when he was named among Queensland’s leading health and aged care lawyers in the Doyles Guide. Notably, he was the sole recipient acknowledged outside Brisbane’s central business district, highlighting his regional prominence in this area. Outside the office, Paul enjoys an active lifestyle, including surfing, mountain biking and rugby, and values spending quality time with his wife and three young sons.
