About David John Edward
David J. E. Taylor, Jnr was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in 2006. He began his legal career with Gall Standfield and Smith Solicitors, a well-regarded Gold Coast firm, following the completion of his legal training. After moving to the Gold Coast in 2001, David pursued a combined Bachelor of Laws and Arts degree at Bond University, majoring in Journalism and Criminology. He furthered his studies by completing a Master of Laws focusing on Legal Practice. His academic journey also included a scholarship at the Faculty of Law, University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, where he studied under a professor previously associated with his father, bridging a connection across decades. David offers consultancy services to a select client base across a range of civil legal matters, with particular attention to dispute resolution, legal advocacy, and strategic legal planning. As a mediator accredited under the Australian National Mediator Standards, he is available to provide independent mediation services. From 2009 to 2016, David served as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of CuDeco Ltd, an ASX top 200 listed company. In 2016, he resigned to pursue public service, standing for election to represent the communities of Broadbeach, Mermaid Beach and Bundall at the Gold Coast City Council. Drawing on extensive corporate governance experience and advocacy skills, David now provides expert legal advice and support to clients throughout Queensland.
