About David Anthony
David A. Taylor Snr is the founding principal of Taylors Solicitors, having established the firm as a sole practitioner until joined by his son in 2006. He was admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales in 1970, following the completion of his Articles of Clerkship with Truman Nelson Norman & Howard in Sydney, under the tutelage of John Howard, who later became the 25th Prime Minister of Australia. Mr Taylor practised privately in Sydney and from 1975 to 1979 served on Waverley Council, including a term as Mayor in 1977. In recognition of his community service, he was awarded the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal that same year. In the early 1980s, David Snr relocated to Brisbane and was admitted as a solicitor in Queensland in 1984. Over the ensuing decades, he has handled a wide range of significant civil matters, including successfully appealing to the High Court of Australia on behalf of a client in 1991 — a notable achievement for a sole practitioner. Until early 2007, he represented Queensland solicitors on a committee within the Law Council of Australia. David Snr remains principal of Taylors Solicitors and is well regarded for his steadfast advocacy and extensive legal experience developed over more than five decades.
