James Steedman

James Steedman is Co-Founder and Legal Practice Director at Steedman Stagg Lawyers. Prior to founding the firm alongside Nick Stagg, James was a senior partner in both the Litigation and Dispute Resolution and Private Clients teams at Lavan, a highly regarded independent law firm in Western Australia, where he worked for seven years from 2014. Before joining Lavan, he spent 15 years as a partner at a boutique Perth firm focusing on litigation and property matters. With over 30 years’ experience, James has developed a broad and accomplished legal practice. He is widely recognised for his capabilities in alternative dispute resolution as well as in contentious Wills and estates matters. He has acted for a diverse range of clients including listed companies, subsidiaries, high net worth individuals, small to medium enterprises, family businesses, individuals, and not-for-profit organisations. James regularly represents clients in court proceedings as well as private mediations and arbitrations, including cross-border disputes.
