Graeme Steart

Graeme Steart is an esteemed solicitor with a legal career that extends over 45 years, underscored by a solid academic background from Monash University. He obtained a Bachelor of Jurisprudence in 1976 followed by a Bachelor of Laws in 1978, and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in Victoria by 1980. Furthering his qualifications, Graeme was admitted as a Solicitor in New South Wales in 1990 and has been a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia since 1988. Graeme’s career encompasses a diverse range of legal roles, having held key positions within the Commonwealth Crown Solicitor, now known as the Australian Government Solicitor, and the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. In these roles, he dealt with high-level criminal prosecutions and complex civil litigation. Earlier in his career, he was integral to the Special Prosecutor's Office, where he led teams in criminal asset recovery and civil remedies. His reputation for tackling intricate legal challenges and offering expertise across various domains has been well established throughout his professional journey. Returning to private practice, Graeme acquired F.W. Robson & Co. in 1988 and subsequently established a successful sole practice in 1992. His focus spans numerous legal areas, including criminal law, commercial law, corporations, contract law, wills and estates, probate, family law, and both general and commercial litigation. Graeme’s comprehensive experience and meticulous approach to every case have garnered the trust and appreciation of his clients.
