Tom Goudkamp

Tom Goudkamp is the esteemed Chairman of Stacks Goudkamp, bringing over 40 years of dedicated experience in personal injury law. As an Accredited Specialist, he has consistently provided exceptional legal representation to seriously injured accident victims. His illustrious career includes involvement in landmark cases, notably the groundbreaking medical negligence case of Rogers v Whitaker, which reached the Australian High Court. Throughout his career, Tom has skilfully handled cases for clients injured while visiting Australia from various countries, including England, the USA, and Japan, among others. His efforts have also extended to assisting travellers to New South Wales from across Australia. Tom has contributed significantly to the legal community, serving on the NSW Law Society’s Common Law Committee and as the Chair Person of the Specialist Accreditation Personal Injury Committee since 1992. His leadership was further recognised during his tenure as the National President of The Australian Lawyers Alliance in 2005-2006. He co-authored the Personal Injury Law Manual—NSW and was honoured with an OAM in 2005 for his services to the law and injured individuals. His role as a Supreme Court Arbitrator and former CARS Assessor further highlights his expertise. Tom’s approach is grounded in empathy and understanding, striving to fully appreciate the challenges faced by accident victims. Educated at The Australian National University, where he earned his Bachelor of Laws, Tom continues to lead with distinction as Managing Director of Stacks Goudkamp, a position he has held since 1993.
