About Rebecca
Rebecca Exley leads the Deceased Estates and Personal Wealth Legacy Team at Solari & Stock Lawyers, bringing extensive experience in estate planning, estate administration, and estate litigation for complex high net worth clients. Her practice focuses on assisting clients with business succession planning and managing estates involving business and trust structures, high-value investments, blended families, and generational wealth. Rebecca acts for both plaintiffs and defendants in estate litigation matters, often involving challenges where clients have not received adequate provision under a Will, or where there are concerns regarding the validity of a Will. She also represents groups of clients in litigation related to the mismanagement and loss of investment funds, particularly where such funds originate from superannuation or business structures. In 2022, Rebecca completed a Master of Applied Laws, further enhancing her expertise. In 2023, she was admitted to the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners, an international recognition that allows her to be appointed as an independent administrator during estate litigation or administration, reflecting her expertise in the field. Rebecca originally qualified in the United Kingdom, earning a Bachelor of Law (Honours) from the University of Lincoln in 2008 and completing the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law London in 2009. She was admitted to the High Court of England & Wales in 2012. Between 2012 and 2015, she practised with rural firms where she advised large rural clients on succession planning and estate administration. Relocating to Sydney in 2016, Rebecca continued her legal studies by completing the Legal Practitioners Admission Board Diploma in Law at the University of Sydney in 2020. She was subsequently admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in August 2020 and to the High Court of Australia in September 2020. Beyond her professional commitments, Rebecca enjoys exploring wineries in the Southern Highlands and Mudgee, spending time with her husband and two young children, and powerlifting, with deadlifting being a particular favourite. Her passion for law was inspired early on by a university lecturer, whose enthusiasm for succession law shaped her career path and commitment to the field.
