Leon Shohmelian

Leon brings nearly 20 years of legal experience, supported by his comprehensive academic background including a Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Laws, and Master of Laws. Throughout his career, he has gained extensive knowledge working with various organisations, which has enriched his understanding of complex legal and commercial matters. Leon has developed a particular focus on the legal issues surrounding retirement villages and aged care. His expertise in this area is well-regarded by both colleagues and industry stakeholders, and he regularly delivers presentations and training at national and regional conferences, sharing insights on current legal developments affecting the sector. Beyond his professional commitments, Leon is deeply engaged in community service. His leadership roles have included serving as Director and Vice-President of the Chatswood Chamber of Commerce, as well as Director and President of the Old Sydneians’ Union, reflecting his dedication to contributing to diverse community groups. Family is central to Leon’s life. He is married to Kristin, and together they have four children: Joseph, Sara, Zoe-Marie, and Esther. Their shared faith as committed Christians led them to meet while studying at C3 Bible College, and since 2018 they have been serving as Location Pastors of C3 SYD Parramatta, a church they helped establish with their team. This combination of professional expertise, community involvement, and personal faith shapes Leon’s approach to both law and life.
