Jacqueline Dawson

Jacqui is a Principal at Sexton Family Law with over twenty years of experience practising in family law. She is recognised for her clear, direct advice and her confident guidance of clients through a range of family law matters. Jacqui places a strong emphasis on negotiating agreements where possible, but is also well-versed in litigation, having represented clients in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Her experience encompasses a broad spectrum of family law issues, including complex financial settlements, relocation applications, and parenting disputes involving serious allegations of family violence. Jacqui’s background includes work at Robyn Sexton & Associates, continuing as a Principal when the firm was renamed Sexton Family Law in 2015. In addition to her legal practice, Jacqui contributes to the profession through service on multiple committees and as an elected Councillor of the Law Society of New South Wales since 2021. Jacqui’s practice areas include property settlements involving substantial assets and complex structures, complex parenting matters, spousal and adult child maintenance, child support, injunctions and restraining orders, cohabitation agreements, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, and divorce applications. She was admitted to practice in December 1994.
