Emily joined Sayer Jones in 2015 and has since honed a profound understanding of Family Law through her exclusive practice in the area since her admission. Drawing from her extensive experience, Emily advises clients on all facets of Family Law and litigation, handling intricate cases with adeptness and precision. With a particular interest in financial matters, Emily expertly navigates cases involving complex divisions and retention of commercial interests, as well as the intricacies of commercial valuations within the Family Law context. She is adept at managing urgent financial matters, demonstrating her ability to handle cases such as spousal maintenance and ex parte injunctions with efficiency and tact. Emily also excels in handling high conflict parenting matters, providing skilled representation in cases involving relocation and substance abuse issues. Her experience extends to cross-border matters, having worked collaboratively with firms in Singapore, the USA, and New Zealand. Her participation in the Lawyer Exchange program with Gloria James Civetta & Co. in Singapore between 2018 and 2020 enriched her understanding of Family Law matters in the South East Asian region, thereby enhancing her contribution to our Alliance with GJC. Emily is actively engaged in this Alliance, frequently orchestrating CPD activities to foster collaboration and shared learning. Committed to guiding her clients through the often emotional and challenging legal landscape, Emily combines empathy with a strategic focus on achieving successful outcomes. Her compassionate approach provides clients with support and clarity as she navigates the legal process on their behalf. Emily holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and is admitted to practise in both the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of Victoria. Her dedication to the community is demonstrated through her volunteer work at the Barwon Community Legal Centre. A proactive member of the Law Institute of Victoria and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, Emily is well-regarded for her commitment to professional development and excellence in Family Law.
