About Brad
Brad is the founding Legal Director of Saunders Family & Estate Lawyers, bringing over 28 years of experience in Family Law and Wills & Estates. Since 2007, he has been recognised by the Law Institute of Victoria for his expertise in Family Law. Brad focuses on achieving practical and sensible outcomes for clients, while aiming to reduce the financial and emotional impacts often associated with family disputes. Brad began his legal career in 1994 as an articled clerk in a large Gippsland practice and was admitted to practice in 1995. In his early years, he dealt with a broad spectrum of legal matters, including Family Law, Wills & Estates, Criminal Law, Property Law, and Commercial Law. In 1997, he moved to a firm in Williamstown where he further developed his skills in Family Law and Wills & Estates, earning his accreditation in Family Law in 2007. In 2008, Brad joined a specialised Family Law firm in Melbourne’s CBD, expanding his experience to complex cases involving high-value financial matters, superannuation including self-managed funds, family companies and trusts, binding financial agreements, contested parenting arrangements, allegations of violence and abuse, relocation, parentage, child support, and spousal maintenance. Alongside his Family Law practice, Brad has maintained a significant Wills & Estates practice. He advises and represents clients on drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Medical Treatment Decision Maker documents; handling grants of representation including probate and letters of administration; estate administration; resolving estate disputes; and managing Testator’s Family Maintenance claims. Brad is committed to building trusting relationships with his clients and works diligently to resolve matters efficiently and effectively. He also contributes pro bono services to the Cancer Council Victoria, assisting eligible cancer patients with the preparation of Wills and attorney documents. Outside of his professional work, Brad is an active Rotarian involved in supporting local, national, and international charitable initiatives. He is a keen cyclist and regularly participates in annual charity bike rides, as well as enjoying golf.
