Angela Burr

Angela has been practising family law since 2002, bringing over two decades of experience to her role. Known for her calm and compassionate approach, she is dedicated to guiding clients through complex legal issues to achieve favourable outcomes. She began her legal career in a commercial and litigation environment, progressing from articled clerk to Senior Associate before focusing exclusively on family law from 2008. Since 2018, Angela has served as a Director at Saunders Family & Estate Lawyers, where she manages a diverse caseload. Angela’s practice includes all aspects of family law, such as parenting and property disputes, whether contested or resolved by consent. She regularly represents clients in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, handling urgent matters including intervention orders, injunctions to protect property, and recovery orders related to children. Her experience extends to complex cases involving third parties and bankruptcy. In addition to courtroom advocacy, Angela frequently prepares and advises on Financial Agreements, encompassing pre-nuptial, cohabitation, and post-separation arrangements. She is recognised for her effective negotiation skills and has been involved in numerous successful mediations and dispute resolution sessions. Beyond her practice, Angela contributes to the legal community as a speaker for the Law Institute of Victoria, sharing insights on topics such as managing difficult interactions in family law matters. She has also led workshops focusing on Financial Agreements and parenting issues, underscoring her commitment to client education and support.
