Yijian (James) Deng

Yijian (James) Deng is a solicitor admitted to practise law by the Supreme Court of New South Wales since October 2019 and by the Ministry of Justice of China since March 2013. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of New South Wales and a Juris Master from Sun Yat-Sen University. James began his legal career in 2020 and has developed broad experience across various areas of civil law, including family law, property law, wills and estates, civil litigation, children’s law, business law, immigration law and employment law. In August 2024, he joined Sapphire Legal, where he focuses exclusively on family law, property law, wills and estates, and civil litigation. At Sapphire Legal, James handles a wide range of matters such as divorce, property settlements, parenting arrangements, financial agreements, consent orders, wills and estate documentation, probate, family provision claims, business law and civil disputes.
