Brett Pomroy

Brett began his career in human resources, industrial relations, and safety within the oil and gas industry, working both onshore and offshore. Throughout these early years, he undertook formal training and obtained qualifications in industrial relations, occupational health and safety, and workers compensation. His work spanned multiple sectors including oil and gas, general industry, construction, and mining, with experience across various Australian states such as Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, and Tasmania. Upon returning to Victoria, Brett has worked with a diverse range of organisations including manufacturers with both domestic and international operations, educational institutions, health services, and local government bodies. His roles have included both external consulting and internal management positions. Brett’s extensive experience across industries such as mining, construction, manufacturing, local government, education, transport, and healthcare has involved managing significant matters related to industrial relations, workers compensation, and occupational health and safety. This breadth of exposure has enabled him to develop a robust understanding and capability in these areas. Following considerable involvement in proceedings before the Fair Work Commission, Accident Compensation Tribunal, and Human Rights Commission, Brett pursued formal legal studies, completing a law degree and practical legal training. He holds a current practising certificate and completed his supervised training with a Melbourne-based law firm. After successfully completing his supervision, Brett established Salt Legal, where he is currently the Principal Lawyer. His practice encompasses industrial and employee relations, equal opportunity, alternative dispute resolution, labour management, occupational health and safety, workers compensation, as well as general business and commercial law.
