About Yuri
Yuri Matsuura is the Principal Solicitor, bringing over 20 years of multidisciplinary experience spanning finance, law, international relations, and migration. She is admitted to practice in both the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. Yuri advises clients across five continents on a diverse range of matters, from addressing the current domestic housing crisis to managing complex multi-million dollar cross-border investment projects. Throughout her career, Yuri has predominantly worked with women, driven by her deep understanding of the challenges faced, including domestic violence, isolation, homelessness, substance abuse, mental illness, racism, and sexism. Her dedication to promoting equal access to justice and social services is a defining aspect of her practice. Yuri is a committed signatory to the National Pro Bono Target and an active member of the International Bar Association. She was also one of the Founding Directors of the Women’s Village Collective, a not-for-profit organisation supporting women experiencing or at risk of housing insecurity, homelessness, and poverty. Through this work, she advocates for improved futures for women, children at risk, and the organisations that support them.
