Emma Higgins

Emma is a highly esteemed legal professional in Queensland, renowned for her adept handling of criminal, domestic violence, and disciplinary law matters. Emma's career saw a pivotal moment in 2011 when she joined Robertson O’Gorman as a law clerk, gaining significant expertise in criminal law. Her contributions to the legal community are notable, including serving on the Queensland Law Society’s Occupational Discipline Committee, being recognised as an emergent leader through a nomination for the WLAQ Emergent Young Woman Lawyer Award, and imparting her knowledge by teaching criminal law at the University of Queensland. Additionally, her role as a judge in university mooting competitions showcases her dedication to mentoring future legal professionals. In 2017, Emma co-authored the second edition of "Criminal Process in Queensland," a key resource on criminal responsibility, defences, and procedures. The proceeds from this work were generously donated to the Caxton Legal Centre, underscoring Emma’s unwavering commitment to justice and community support.
