About Craig
Craig Eade is Principal Solicitor with a committed focus on advocating for the rights and interests of Aboriginal people. His dedication to equity and representation began during his time as a law student at the University of Newcastle, where he successfully campaigned for the establishment of the inaugural Indigenous Representative position on the University’s Law Association Committee. During his internship at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT), Craig demonstrated his commitment by authoring a policy guideline to assist AAT employees working with Aboriginal clients. His strong performance and adherence to his Aboriginal values throughout his cadetship at Legal Aid led to his appointment as a solicitor at Legal Aid’s Newcastle Office. There, he played a key role in implementing the Indigenous Placement Program, enhancing opportunities within the legal sector for Aboriginal people. Craig remains actively involved in both the policy and legal dimensions of Aboriginal advocacy. His dedication to addressing the needs of Aboriginal students was recognised through his appointment to the Newcastle Law School Advisory Board. In addition, he serves on Legal Aid’s Family Law, Care and Protection, Criminal Law, and Civil Law panels, bringing broad experience and a deep commitment to justice and equity for Aboriginal communities.
