Tracey Randall

Tracey Randall is the founding principal of Randall Legal, established in 2008, and brings nearly two decades of well-rounded legal expertise to her practice. Her career is marked by a robust commitment to courtroom advocacy, developed through her experiences in both metropolitan hubs and her current base in the regional city of Lismore. Tracey's legal journey commenced with a significant role at a national Aboriginal organisation that participated in the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody. This pivotal experience was followed by her dedication as a criminal defence solicitor for the Aboriginal Legal Service in Redfern. Subsequently, Tracey broadened her legal acumen in a city private practice, where she navigated a diverse array of matters encompassing general litigation and advocacy, and made appearances before the Royal Commission into the NSW Police Service. In 1996, Tracey relocated north to Lismore with the aim of establishing a new Aboriginal Legal Service. Her commitment to serving the community continued when she joined the Legal Aid Commission in Lismore. There, she excelled as a Senior Solicitor for eight years and later as the Managing Lawyer for three years, making significant contributions to the provision of legal aid in the region. In 2003, Tracey was recognised with the prestigious Specialist Accreditation in Criminal Law by the Law Society of NSW, reflecting her deep expertise and commitment to excellence in this field. Tracey’s extensive experience in criminal defence is complemented by her proficiency in various legal forums, regularly appearing in the Supreme Court, Local, District, and Children's Court. She is well-versed in conducting representation in coronial inquests, having been involved in several high-profile cases, and is adept in advocating for both the family of the deceased and persons of interest. Furthermore, Tracey is experienced in proceedings before the Guardianship Tribunal, Mental Health Review Tribunal, Administrative Appeals Tribunal, and in general litigation matters.
