About Scott

Scott Waterson is the Principal Solicitor at Clifton Legal’s Armidale office, leading the Property Law & More team. He commenced his career with the firm in 2013 as a Law Clerk while completing his legal studies. Admitted to practice in 2014, Scott has been with Clifton Legal except for a brief period working with Armidale Regional Council. Prior to his legal career, Scott gained nearly two decades of commercial experience as a licensed real estate agent, including ten years owning and managing his own agency. He completed his law degree at the University of New England while running a small hospitality business, blending practical business knowledge with his legal expertise. Scott’s strong connection to the Armidale community informs his work, with a focus on areas including small business, real property transactions, commercial leasing and sales, commercial law, and wills and estates. Outside the office, he is actively involved in local sport, serving as an executive member of New England Rugby Union and participating in cricket both as a player and mentor for junior teams. He also contributes to the University of New England community through his executive role with St Albert’s College Senior Common Room and as a First Grade rugby coach. Scott’s commitment to mentoring students highlights his dedication to supporting emerging talent within the region.
