Douglas Bassett, Principal Solicitor at Property Law & More, brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to serving the communities of Armidale and Tenterfield. He graduated from the University of New England in 2004 with degrees in Computer Science and Law, achieving First Class Honours in the latter. Following completion of the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law, Doug embarked on his legal career with Weaver, Gentle & Harrison in Armidale. In 2005, Doug joined the Armidale office of Liston & Loveband, remaining with the firm through its various evolutions, including Liston & Clifton and Clifton Legal. Since 2012, he has been the primary solicitor at the firm's Tenterfield branch, building strong ties within the local community. Doug’s expertise encompasses property law and succession planning, particularly Wills and Estates, reflecting his genuine interest and proficiency in these areas. On 1 January 2018, Doug and Terri Smith acquired the Tenterfield branch of Clifton Legal, founding Property Law & More. While property law and estates are his core focus, Doug also has substantial experience in criminal law, family law, business and franchise law, as well as civil litigation. As a director and leader of the firm, he is known for providing clear, practical and considered advice, ensuring that clients’ needs and objectives are prioritised at every step.
