Aaron McDonald

Aaron McDonald is the Founding Director of Pragma, established in 2014. A graduate of the University of Western Australia, Aaron was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2008 and the High Court of Australia in 2009. He is an accomplished advocate, regularly appearing in all Courts and Tribunals. Aaron's legal journey began with the completion of his articles of clerkship at a commercial law firm, followed by over five years with a major international law firm in its Litigation and Dispute Resolution Division, where he achieved the role of Senior Associate. His experience is further enriched by an 18-month period working in the Melbourne office of the firm. In addition to his legal practice, Aaron has shared his expertise as a lecturer to law and business students at tertiary institutions. He is known for his contributions to the legal community through presentations on various topics, including a notable presentation alongside the Chief Justice of Western Australia on best practices in mediation. Aaron holds a Masters of Laws from the University of Western Australia and actively participates in the legal community as a member of the Courts Committee of the Law Society of Western Australia. Furthermore, he serves on the Committee of The Piddington Society, an organisation dedicated to promoting access to justice and legal education. Demonstrating his commitment to community service, Aaron founded the Subiaco Community Legal Service in 2017, where he continues to serve as Chair of the Board. Aaron's practice encompasses a broad range of areas including Commercial Advice, Building & Construction, Government & Public sectors, Insolvency & Restructuring, Mining & Resources, Not-For-Profit, and Transport & Logistics. His comprehensive experience and leadership continue to guide Pragma's success and service to its clients.
