Kathleen Anderson is Special Counsel within the Dispute Resolution team and brings 15 years of commercial litigation experience to her role. Her career includes significant contributions to the Dispute Resolution and Litigation Groups at Middletons and K&L Gates, reflecting a strong foundation in managing complex legal matters. Kathleen has extensive experience assisting small to medium-sized enterprises in preventing and resolving disputes commonly encountered in everyday business operations. This includes matters such as breaches of contract, partnership disagreements, debt recovery proceedings, and claims of negligence. She also deals with equitable interest claims and restraint of trade disputes involving employers and former employees. Her practice covers a broad range of property disputes, including lease terminations, damages claims by landlords and tenants, conflicts between property co-owners, the roles of court-appointed trustees, caveats, encroachments, easements, and contentious lease negotiations. Kathleen’s expertise extends to estate planning and litigation. She provides advice on will preparation, particularly in situations where estate claims may arise. Her experience includes handling applications for further provision from estates, contested probate matters relating to the validity or existence of wills, appointment of administrators, and addressing concerns such as executor inactivity or misconduct and misuse of powers of attorney. She also manages various succession law disputes, including contentious issues surrounding estate administration. From 2023 to 2024, Kathleen was a full member of STEP, a global professional association for practitioners in trusts, estates, and related areas, highlighting her commitment to ongoing professional development in estate and trust law. Her broad range of expertise supports clients in both commercial dispute resolution and complex estate matters.
