Ben Sindel

Ben Sindel is a Consultant leading the Dispute Resolution team at Plastiras Lawyers. Since joining the firm in 2012, Ben has brought over 25 years of legal experience, including his tenure as a partner at DLA Piper, one of Australia’s top-tier firms. Ben primarily advises small to medium enterprises across a broad range of business disputes, risk management issues and commercial litigation. His work encompasses corporate governance, director and shareholder disagreements, corporate contractual disputes, compliance with the Australian Consumer Law, intellectual property conflicts, employment and confidential information claims, franchising disputes, and insolvency matters. In addition to his corporate practice, Ben also assists private clients with consumer protection matters, insurance advice and litigation, employment issues, and personal insolvency. His client portfolio includes a car insurance company, a luxury health and wellness provider, and high net worth individuals. Ben’s experience extends to property law and handling large contractual claims related to residential and commercial construction disputes, including matters involving builders and property owners. He also advises on breaches of contract in commercial and residential sales, lease breaches by tenants and landlords, as well as multi-million dollar joint venture and fiduciary duty disputes. Committed to early intervention and cost-effective resolution, Ben advocates for mediation and alternative dispute resolution in business and commercial conflicts. He holds national accreditation as a Mediator and has been recognised in the Australian Best Lawyers listings since 2017 for his skills in negotiation and dispute resolution. Ben’s qualifications include postgraduate studies at FINSIA in financial markets and economics, and he is a graduate of the Harvard Negotiation Institute and QUT’s National Commercial Mediation Course.
